Learn tips and tricks for a successful fundraiser

Want to make sure your GoFundMe campaign is set up for success? Be sure to follow these tips to supercharge your campaign.

 1. Include a High Quality Picture

Before sharing your campaign, make sure that it’s visually appealing. A campaign with high quality pictures and/or videos will:

  • Make your campaign look legitimate and worthy of donations
  • Quickly convey what your campaign is about
  • Allow your donors to truly connect to the cause or person your campaign is supporting
If you have the GoFundMe mobile app and a connected Facebook account, you’ll even have the ability to create an impressive video slideshow in a matter of minutes!

 2. Tell a Compelling Story

Your campaign description is what turns your campaign visitors into donors. A supercharged campaign description will include all of these elements:

  • A clear description of who you are
  • Who (or what) you’re raising money for
  • Your relation to that person (if it’s not yourself)
  • How exactly you will spend the money raised (be as specific as possible)
  • Why this cause means so much to you
  • Clearly formatted paragraphs that are easy to read
Also, don’t forget to proofread your description to make sure there are no spelling or grammar errors!

3. Get Early Donors

Be sure to have a few close friends or family members review your campaign before you share your campaign with everyone else. Encourage them to be honest with you if any edits need to be made.

Once your campaign is ready to go, challenge your closest friends and family members to support your campaign and share it with three of their own friends. Doing this will help you have a successful campaign from day one.

To keep up the momentum, post updates to your campaign every few days or so to remind more of your friends to donate!
